Ma stai usando versioni in testing/unstable? In questo caso non so
aiutarti, se non dirti di aspettare un po' di giorni che sistemino.

Io uso solo Debian stable e old stable.

L'alternativa è provare ad installare le versioni dei pacchetti che ti
ha indicato:

gnome-core (= 1:3.8+4ubuntu3)
gedit (>= 3.4)
gedit-plugins (>= 3.4)

ma presumo che installando questi genererai altri problemi di dipendenze
in cascata.

Purtroppo sto sistema di pacchetti legati gli uni agli altri su linux è
una cosa che mi manda in bestia parecchio.
