Notizia carina: tutti i nuovi processori dualcore hanno la tecnologia TC.

Ed una triste novità: è già molto diffuso tra noi e scansarlo sarà
problematico.
Volevo batterli sul tempo ed aggiornare il mio hardware per resistere,
resistere, resistere, qualche anno senza cedere agli attacchi dei
trusted computer sperando in una loro sconfitta; ma documentandomi
sulle cpu ho scoperto che:

1- Amd ha implementato in tutti i suoi processori a 64bit una nuova
funzionalità la "Enhanced Virus Protection" che :
Enhanced Virus Protection in combination with Windows(r) XP SP2 sets
portions of system memory aside as "data only" meaning that any code
resident in these areas may not be executed, only read from or written
to.
...With Microsoft(r) Windows(r) XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), you will be
able to fully utilize the security technology*. By providing extra
security at the platform level, AMD lets you easily embrace the future
of computing. This technology can deliver added protection for the
applications of today and tomorrow. As a result, you can enjoy real

l'asterischino sta per: * Enhanced Virus Protection (EVP) is only
enabled by certain operating systems including the current versions of
Microsoft(r) Windows(r), Linux, Solaris and BSD Unix. After properly
installing the appropriate operating system release, users must enable
the protection of their applications and associated files from buffer
overrun attacks. Consult your OS documentation for information on
enabling EVP. Contact your application software vendor for information
regarding use of the application in conjunction with EVP. AMD and its
partners strongly recommend that users continue to use third party
anti-virus software as part of their security strategy.
Beh questo è l'inizio del TC.

2- Per quanto riguarda invece i pentium D ecco quello che ho trovato:
In prima istanza, Microsoft promuove una nuova caratteristica di
sicurezza di Longhorn, basata sull'hardware e quindi in perfetto stile
Palladium, chiamata Secure Startup. Secure Startup è in grado di
trarre giovamento dalla presenza nel sistema del Trusted Platform
Module (TPM 1.2), chip di protezione da qualche mese installato nei
portatili di alcune grandi marche e ora inoculato direttamente nei
nuovi processori Intel dual-core, i Pentium D. Se il TPM è presente,
Longhorn è in grado di garantire l'avvio del sistema in uno stato
riconosciuto dalla macchina come coerente e pienamente operativo.

Ragazzi siamo già alla frutta e non lo sapevamo.
Tenetevi stretti il vostro hardware o compratelo nuovo e passate a
linux, non vedo molte altre alternative per mantenere il controllo del
prorpio pc."
